My dad and I both love baseball and have often talked about going on a baseball trip. Our plan was to travel around the U.S. and visit various MLB stadiums in one trip. Our dream finally came to fruition in June 2015 when we visited eight different stadiums in eight days. We went back and forth with various iterations of the trip. Finding a trip that hits as many stadiums as possible in a limited number of days is more difficult than it seems. Dad’s final choice excluded Boston. Mine excluded Philly. In the end, we decided that Boston was a “must-see” given its history so we went with my itinerary. I treasured every moment I got to spend with my dad on this trip. My dad’s best friend and his son came along as well, making it even more special.
Day 1: Detroit: We met in Chicago on a Wednesday afternoon and stayed in Ann Arbor, MI that evening. The next morning we got up and went to the Henry Ford Museum before getting a Coney Island hot dog at Lafayette’s. We finished our day in Detroit by going to Comerica Park where the A’s beat the Tigers, 7-5.
