Day 2: Toronto:
Before proceeding to Toronto, we crossed off a bucket list item of mine and went to Niagara Falls. Wow! What a site! It is pretty incredible to see and I am thankful I had the opportunity to go.
After visiting the falls, e arrived in Toronto in time to take a double-decker bus tour of the city where we saw many different neighborhoods in Toronto as well as the Hockey Hall of Fame. After the tour, we went to lunch where we had poutine, a popular dish in Canada that includes French fries, gravy and cheese curds. It rained most of the late afternoon so we bellied up to a bar before heading to the Blue Jays game. The Blue Jays beat the Astros, 6-2.
Day 3: New York City: What a day in NYC! We arrived at Yankee Stadium from Toronto around 2pm. Since the game didn’t start until 7pm and my dad and Mike had never been to NYC, we decided to take the subway down to Battery Park in Manhattan so we could catch a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty and the Freedom Tower. After taking a few pictures, we called an Uber (everyone else’s first Uber ride!). The driver agreed to drive us around the city and be our tour guide. He was a crazy NY driver but he did a wonderful job. We saw the World Trade Center site, Times Square, Broadway and several different neighborhoods before he dropped us off back at Yankee Stadium. While waiting for the game to start, we watched American Pharoah win the Triple Crown on the center field big screen. The Yankees beat the Angels, 8-2.
